Why Use Timber Mats?
When you're moving heavy equipment across soft, wet, or uneven ground, the mat is the difference between a job that runs on schedule and one that gets stuck.
Bayou Mats are built from solid oak and through-bolted with heavy hardware to spread load, protect the surface underneath, and hold up to repeat use.
We rent two solid-timber profiles:

-5' x 8'

Our 4' x 20' Timber Mats
These are solid-timber mats: four full 12"x12" oak timbers, 20 feet long, bolted together into a 4-foot-wide deck. Twelve inches of solid oak under the load means serious bearing capacity for the heaviest equipment on site.
Built for: crane outriggers, heavy lifts, and high-load staging where you need maximum strength per mat.
Our 5' x 8' Timber Mats
A solid-timber mat for working areas that don't call for a 20-footer.
Five 12"x8" oak timbers, 8 feet long, bolted through into a compact, heavy-duty deck that's easier to place and reposition.
Built for: Tighter footprints, access roads, and staging where a full crane mat is more than you need.
WHY CHOOSE BAYOU MATS TIMBER MATS?
All oak, all the time. Oak is denser and tougher than the softwood used in cheaper mats. It holds bolts, resists splitting, and lasts more cycles.
Built for repeat use. These mats are made to come off the truck, do the work, and go back out again.
Through-bolted, not nailed. Grade-8 carriage bolts with lock nuts and flat washers hold every mat tight under load and vibration.
Sized for the job. Two timber profiles cover everything from heavy lifts to tighter access work.
